Department of Energy Laboratories accepting applications for 2014 Summer Term internship/fellowship opportunities thru January 10, 2014

The Office of Science / Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications to its 2014 Summer Term internship/fellowship opportunities at Department of Energy (DOE) Laboratories. These competitive, paid internships, are for 10 weeks during the Summer Term (May to August timeframe), and include support for travel and housing.

The three programs accepting applications are: Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI), Community College Internships (CCI); and Visiting Faculty Program (VFP).

Applications for these three programs must be completed and submitted online by 5 PM ET , January 10, 2014 (including all required application materials and recommendations). Continue reading.

IEEE Power & Energy Society offers scholarships
The  Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Power and Energy Society (IEEE PES) Scholarship Plus Initiative provides multi-year scholarships and career experience opportunities to qualifying U.S. & Canadian electrical engineering undergraduate students. As long as the scholar continues to meet renewal standards, he or she will receive up to three years of funding — US$2,000 the first year, $2,000 the second year and $3,000 the third year — interspersed with up to two years of valuable, hands-on career experience.
